Along with my latest Lotto Magic cheque I received the latest Lottery Club newsletter. From January 2009 the Florida Lottery is adding Powerball to its portfolio of games.
Lotto Magic plans to include Powerball in March 2009, once the computer program has been modified to handle it.
How to win at Powerball
Powerball is a lotto game that combines a large jackpot game and a cash game. Every Wednesday and Saturday night at 10:59pm Eastern Time five white balls are drawn out of a drum of 55 balls, and one red ball is drawn out of a drum of 42 red balls.
Players win by matching one of the 9 Ways to Win. The jackpot (won by matching all five white balls in any order and the red Powerball) is either an annuitized prize paid out over 29 years or a lump sum payment. The second prize (won by matching five white balls in any order) is $200,000 paid in cash, and any time you match the red Powerball, you win. The overall odds of winning a prize in the game are better than 1 in 37 so this will be a great addition to our club.
